Oh my heart is heavy...

This is a whiny post about what a big baby I am- My honey is leaving me for a month for her job to go to PA and I want to just die. I am not brave like Michelle and Nick. I love being with her and I am scared to death to be alone at night. What if I hear something outside? What if a snake comes to visit like last week? I have to be a single Mom to 5 children- all have parent teacher conferences while she is gone- I can't sleep alone- oh woe is me.

OK enough whining. I just love her!

This is why contractors are in business

In our bathroom- we have ugly gold tile and I planned on it being our next project- you know silly me thinking it was enough to have our kitchen all pulled apart and 2 bedrooms being built. Well a small piece of tile fell off and Jen got this great idea to re tile the bathroom- seemed like a small enough task.

So she removed a row of tile on the side of the tub...

She made a big mess on the floor...

Then she got out her dremmel....

AND WENT CRAZY!

Now my bathroom has become a huge project- because when she took off the tile, she damaged the drywall- which was supposed to be some special water proof board but wasn't- so she found moisture- and had to peel all that away and now it is a mess.
Did I forget to mention that she has never done a project like this before? This is also the bathroom that the boys shower in every morning? Wow I will be so impressed if she can put it all back together, but secretly I am glad that my contractors will be here next week while we are in Hawaii- just in case she can't.

It's official

Well it's official we are now a one Excursion family. They totaled it. I am putting on more pictures. We went today to clean it out- and had the guy from Car Toys met us there to take out our $4,000 stereo system. The junkyard man was on us- he told us we could not take the stereo/DVD/navigation system out- I told him I sure as hell can- it is my car- and we put the factory stereo back in it- now you know he had his eye on this system. Who in their right mind would leave a stereo like that in a totalled vehicle? Please!

I am just so happy that this beast of a car did it's job and Jen walked away without a scratch. Build Ford tough. The insurance company was more then fair- and paid us more then we bought it for- so all is fine- except our rates will go up! :)

Bye, bye mirror

Rollover my heart.....

I had a great time scrap booking and was able to get about 45 pages completed- but with a huge hiccup- Friday morning Jen was on the way to the airport with 4 puppies- in our Spring snowstorm- she was driving slow when a semi flew past her and she lost control of the Excursion and flipped it into the median. Praise God that she walked away without injury. Her seat belt probably saved her life- she normally does not wear one- but she was compelled to put it on about 10 miles before the accident.

When she landed and got her bearings- the truck was on it's side- she had to dig her way out. Crazy Jen does not call 911- she calls me first after she found her phone in the snow- she could only think about hearing my voice- I do love her- and I was freaking out, feeling so helpless.

Rootbeer and Leihua were also in the car with her- so they must have also gone for a tumble. Thank God Taya was home with the boys. The Firefighters were trying to get Jen out of the Excursion- but she wouldn't leave the dogs for fear that they would get run over on the highway.

The dogs were all OK, the pups were in kennels so that probably helped- and have all made their flights to their new homes. The fate of the Excursion is still to be decided- we will have it towed from the impound lot to a body shop tomorrow to see how bad it is.

I am so thankful that Jen is OK. This hit way to close to home. I could be without her right now and the reality of that has been difficult to think about. She is the love of my life and I feel like I have been given a gift to be lucky enough to still have her in my life to love.

I will post some scrap booking pictures tomorrow!

My Crazy Husband

I am so fortunate. Jen and I have a great relationship- you often hear that a spouse is some one's best friend- but Jen truly is. We talk on the phone all the time when we are apart- and love being together.
She is a nut job though. She loves to laugh and to make other people laugh. Here she is goofing off acting like she is a porn star- nothing could be further from close to believable. She is so funny though. She gives the kids so much laughter- and combined with my snide sense of humor they make us laugh.
It has been nice having her home for the past 10 days or so- we have gotten so much done that we have put off around the farm- plus it is nice to have her to talk to.
There is a big dog show in Denver this weekend- so we will be going to that- plus we have folks coming from CA to pick out their puppy and one of our males is studding this weekend- I am also hoping to fit in a romantic Valentine's dinner sometime.
Normal Jen- I do love her
Trying to be funny and act like a porn star

I won't even go there....
