I am giving up!

So, I am frustrated and tired today- it was a long day, Taya was being a brat- school clothes shopping with Toby is painful to say the least- I get home and go to give the dogs fresh water, spray for grasshoppers, and water the trees- outside maybe an hour- while Taya was inside with Jen and Dylan- I come in and her room looks like this!

I asked her time and time again to clean her room, and she said she did not feel like it-
So I bagged up most of the toys, a lot of her clothes- and I am dropping them off tonight to get rid of them. Taya was screaming and crying and telling me I was so mean.

Here are 4 of the 6 bags.

and now her room looks like this! I am much happier- and she has 6 bags of crap less to mess it up with!
Some days- like today I try to remind myself that this won't last forever- I was really grouchy with Jen because I am tired of doing it all- but she is leaving for work again- so now I get to tackle the living room- which looks almost as bad as Taya's room used to.
Bryce gets off work at midnight- and since I am a mean Mom and won't let him get his license I have to go get him- so I can't even go to bed and pull the covers over my head and try to forget about this horrible day!

We have a new family member....

Jesse has joined our family- Tay just realized that she looks like her- so we had to buy her. She has played with her for 2 days- she never plays with toys that long- so that makes me happy to see her so happy.

We went to the zoo today- it was pretty fun just Tay and I- the boys are all at camp this week.

I still have not cleaned my closet- I need to because I am having a yard sale next weekend.

We took Tay to see Toy Story in 3D- it was her first 3D movie. My brother did not take his son to see it because he heard it was too stressful on children- anyone else feel that way?

I made strawberry crepes for dinner- they were so good! That is about it from us- busy summer.

Stop Complaining

OK, so I decided I have been too serious lately and I need to lighten the mood- I will tell you a funny story about how Taya has Jen so wrapped around her finger.

The other night Taya wanted to take a bath- so Jen filled the tub. She told Taya it was ready- Taya was sitting naked at Jen's desk with her legs crossed and said, "Say pretty please Princess Tay Tay it is time for your bath."

Jen says "Pretty please Princess Taya, go get in the tub." Nope was the response she got from Taya. "You are not listening, I said say Pretty Please Princess Tay Tay it is time for your bath, say that Nay Nay"- (That is what she calls Jen)

I am laughing so hard at this point. This is when I would say- get in the tub or no bath- but not Jen- she asks why she is begging Taya to take a bath when Taya wanted to take one in the first place!

After a few tries, Jen was able to say the correct response and Taya got in the tub. Oh this child kills me!

HELP!

This is what my child does to her room on a daily basis- she changes clothes all day long and just trashes her room- then when you ask her to clean it up- she can't!

Is this normal behavior? It sure gets old cleaning it up!

She can't say no

Jen bought the kids these count down the Christmas calendars- where you open a flap each day and get a candy. Well Taya asked Jen if she could eat all of hers and Jen just can't say no to her- so Taya ate 24 pieces of chocolate! So much for the calendar! Seems to me it would have been easier and cheaper to buy the child a bag of M & M's!

Ranting.....about Taya's parent teacher conference

So I went to Taya's parent teacher conference tonight- now I have been to my fair share of parent teacher conference- but this one irritated me. Her teacher is like 12 years old, not married, and has no children- so she does know everything about parenting.

First of all remember that Taya is 3 1/2. This is what she had to complain about:

Taya does not hold her pencil in a three point grip- she holds it like a stick-Who cares? What the hell does it matter? Bryce holds his in a 4 point grip- my nail tech does something funny when he is coloring my nails- I think he uses the over, under, 5 point grip- but it works for him.

She takes the paper off the outside of the crayons- so she likes naked crayons- is she hurting anyone? She is at least leaving her clothes on, I appreciate that!

She likes to play independently instead of with others- this translates to the other kids are no fun or she does not like to share- for goodness sake she has 4 brothers maybe she wants some alone time- why is this a bad thing? Maybe they have bad breath? Maybe she wants to be the boss, who knows and who cares. If she wasn't playing at all they would complain about that too.

She only asks yes and no questions- maybe she does not care about anything yet that requires colorful answers. Yes and no answers most questions- I think she is getting her basic needs met.

She spilled 1/2 a glass of milk and only got 1 paper towel to clean it up- be glad she even tried to clean it up- most kids wouldn't. Next time don't pour her so much milk- where is the teacher's responsibility in all of this?

Sometimes after she washes her hands she needs to be reminded to throw her towel in the trash instead of on the floor- again back to the 4 older brother thing- she throws it on the floor at home- of course maybe she should throw it in her teachers face and say "How's that?"- it would be a non yes and no question.

When she colors she moves her whole arm, instead of only her wrist- so I need to start doing wrist exercises with her why to avoid carpel tunnel? I am thankful she is coloring on paper and not the walls- she needs to save her wrist movements for waving at the crowds of people lining the streets wanting her autograph from one of her naked crayons.

Then at the end of the conference the teacher let me know she was moving to KY- hooray- glad to be done with you- can I help you pack?

Why?

Why does my daughter draw on EVERYTHING??????? The boys- all 4 of them never did this. Taya draws on everything. The toaster, the walls, the dishwasher, the doors, the tile in the bathroom, the back of my car seats. She is killing me!

Wordless Wednesday

Ok I have to have a few words- so you don't think I beat my child. Taya got stung by a bee at school right under her eye. The crazy part- they thought we were weird for picking her up from school- they said she would be ok. Would someone really leave their child at school looking like this?

First Day of Pre-school

Is this possible that I have a pre-schooler again? Taya started school today- and I think it went well- she fell asleep at lunch and slept for and hour and a half! I guess it will take her some time to get used to all the activities of a school day.

I have already been volunteered for a Parent board member and teaching a scrap booking class, and decorating a bulletin board. This is what I needed more school stuff to do- I am the treasurer of two school's already. Oh well.

Hope all the kiddos out there are having a great school year!

Taya's first OB visit

Well we went to the OB today for Jen's annual-(she will love that I just put that out there to the world)- anyway Taya had to go potty- so she was doing her thing and on the way out she saw a stack of pretty pink cups- so she got herself a drink of water. I did not think anything of it until Jen pointed out it was a collection cup. Please note it was a clean cup.

So while Jen was freaking out I was laughing so hard that she was drinking from a pee cup- I just had to get a picture for my blog. I am such a cruel Mom- everything is put on my blog I swear!

Zucchini Bread

This really nice lady on facebook that lives in a nearby town gave me a bunch of zucchini from her garden- so I made some bread and Taya was a big help!

She is still in the goggle phase- we just go with it.

Dancing Queen

My daughter makes me laugh- here she is wearing Trey's jock strap and her dive mask doing a dance for us. If she only knew that someday these will be great pictures for her yearbook or her wedding slide show. Oh she is so going to kill us for capturing this on film! :)

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I got caught up on laundry and we had the whole season of Harper's Island on out DVR- so we got through about 1/2 of it- pretty good show.

Oh, life in the country....

First of all I just want to put out there- that I do not want to hear Anyone's crap about posting naked pictures of my daughter- you can't see anything and naked kid pictures of childhood are cute- if you can't handle it= then stop looking now. That said....

I love living in the country- because where else can you spend the day playing in your yard dressed (or not dressed) like this? Taya and her new puppy Hana- had a wonderful day playing naked. I love that she is able to be free and have fun.

We had a nice fourth- I will post some pictures and tell you about the newest injuries on the kids.....

My niece is going to be coming for a visit on Friday- so that will be fun. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

You can see my new barn quilt in the background of one of my pictures too!

Tada- Taya's Room is done

I have been a horrible blogger- we have just been so busy. I finally finished Taya's room and I am posting pictures. It was fun to finally get to do something pink. She loves her room- she keeps kicking us out and closing the door. She says her room is totally "awe stome."

I have lots to update about about so I promise I will get on the ball. Toby cut his foot and had to get stitches in his foot. We are just accident prone people I guess. Just be glad you don't have to pay our medical bills! The kitchen is moving along- I have pictures of that too and we hung our first barn quilt! We get the second one tomorrow. It is a turtle- then she will start to paint the third one.

I am going to do a digital scrapbook of our Hawaii trip because I have like 300 pictures- does anyone have a site they like best?

I know I need to take the stickers off her window

That weird spot behind the castle is glitter paint- it looks really cool up close- and all the dots have it too.

Running Away

There is nothing better then a child and a dog. Taya is feeling so much better and I am pretty sure she is running away- she has her backpack, M & M's, and her dog- what else does a three year old need? Leihua looks happy to be her accomplish as long as Taya will throw her an
M & M every so often.

This is how we spent our day...

Taya woke up sick- she has been vomiting all day- I feel for the poor baby. She has gone from the bed to the couch back and forth all day. I am so hoping that she feels a little better tomorrow and can keep something down- even water.

Notice the green puke bucket- I know this is way too much information- but you know I puke too much when I go to the Dollar store just to buy containers for me to puke in when I am sick- but they also come in handy for situations like today.

I wanna go beach!

Taya found her new swim suit and a shovel and came to me saying "I wanna go Beach" so I pried the suit out of her grasp and took a picture of her with her shovel.

Try explaining to a three year old that in a month we are going to Hawaii and she can go to the beach everyday when she wants to go today.

I have been sick most of the weekend- the bruise that the nurse gave me from the IV is HUGE, I look like I tried to kill myself. Who puts an IV in the wrist? My arm is really sore from it- and I am an iv pro- but I am glad to be feeling better.

They put insulation in some of our kitchen today and we ordered the cabinets, I think we picked the flooring and carpet for the kids' rooms- so we are moving right along. The construction guys say they will be done in three weeks- should we have a contest? You and I both know that is not going to happen when they only work half days twice a week!

I read a great saying today that I thought I would share- spoiler alert if you are not a religious fan stop here.

"When you are down to nothing, God is up to something"

Wow I am three!

It seems like just yesterday that Jen was inseminating me on the morning before I flew to AZ. Thinking we were going to miss this cycle because I had an unexpected trip out of town- but we already had the sperm- so why not try?

Now she is three. We had a fun party at Chuck E. Cheese- it is so loud there.

Having a girl opens a whole new world of high pitched screams, frills, attitude, and love.

She is changing before my eyes- before I know it she will be a young lady. sigh!

Taya's new Tutu

We ordered this fun tutu for Taya from Tina at Sweet Pea's Place the pictures do not do it justice but it is so cute! Taya wore it to dance class and was the hit of the day.

Taya had her birthday party yesterday so I will post pictures of my now three year old!

Two more days until scrapbooking yeah!

I have not killed Bryce yet- and since we are on Spring Break he hasn't gotten in any trouble at school.

Dylan got a black eye at wrestling- and Jen got some pictures so I have to post those too.

I was sick again most of the weekend- but I was quick to admit it so I was able to get IV's and pain meds at the Dr. and not have to go to the hospital- praise God! I am feeling better now.
